Process Service

Description

“Routine” service – $65 per defendant / respondent to be served, plus $15 each defendant / respondent if the proof of service needs notarization.
“Rush” service – $85 per defendant to be served, plus the $15 notarization for each defendant / respondent.
“Do Today” service – $100 per defendant plus $15 notarization fee each defendant / respondent, as listed above.

Surcharges:

$10 per defendant on legal process services if the number of pages to be served are greater than 50, but less than 100;
$20 per defendant if the number of pages to be served are greater than 100, but less than 150, and;
$30 per defendant if the number of pages to be served exceeds 150.

Mileage service attempts over 10 miles one way will be billed at the current CA mileage rate of 0.67 per mile for the entire trip.

Note: At this time, we DO NOT “front” witness fees. Clients must provide a check to us for witness fees in the emailed PDF file they are to provide at the time of request for service. We make four attempts at service, including evenings (after 5:00 pm). Please provide as much identifying information as possible to assist us in effecting service upon the correct person. Photos and vehicle descriptions are especially helpful.

If you wish to have us serve a subpoena upon a public entity for records (SDT), please contact the public entity to determine if they charge a fee and if so, either 1) enclose a PDF check for those fees along with the PDF file of the documents to be served, or 2) make arrangements (if possible) to prepay those fees prior to sending us the documents for service. Please indicate on your service instructions that those fees have been prepaid.

Stakeouts / Surveillance:

We currently charge $75 / hr. for this service. All requests for surveillance for the sole purpose of effecting valid legal service must be scheduled in advance.
